Admission Process

Registration Of Students At Sands National Academy

The Kindergarten

  • Children who reach the age of three years and eight months are admitted to the first year in this stage, namely (Al Bustan).
  • Children who reach the age of five years are admitted to the second year in this stage, namely (Attamhidi).

Documents Required For Registration:

  • A certified copy of Birth Certificate with the National Number.
  • A certified copy of the Family Log .
  • Two copies of the Vaccination Card .
  • Two photographs.

First Grade

  • Children who reach the age of six on the 31st of December of the year of admission is accepted in the first grade.

Documents Required For Registration :

  • A certified copy of the Birth Certificate with the National Number.
  • A certified copy of the Family Log.
  • A copy of the Vaccination Card.
  • Two photographs.

Second to Twelfth Grade

  • The student is should have successfully passed his current class and must have of good conduct.
  • The student will be interviewed by a committee of specialists at SNA.
  • The student must be committed to wear the school uniform which is sold by the school
  • The student should stick to the school rules and regulations; otherwise, he/she will be punished in accordance with The School Discipline Regulations issued by the Ministry of Education of which students are made3 aware at the beginning of the school year.

Required Documents

  • Latest three school reports on the student .
  • Annual Transcript for students coming from private schools .
  • Two school reports; one during grade eight ; the other during grade nine for students accepted in grade ten .
  • Student’s School Record .
  • A certified copy of the Birth Certificate with the National Number.
  • A certified copy of the Family Log.
  • A copy of the Vaccination Card for students accepted in the Lower Primary Stage .
  • School Card for students accepted the Secondary Stage.
  • A temporary Passport for those of Palestinian Citizenship .
  • A valid two-year passport for students who belong to Gaza.
  • A valid one-year passport for students who belong to the West Bank .
  • Students with a valid five-year temporary passport should get a no-objection letter from the Department of Palestinian Affairs .
  • Holders of Palestinian documents from Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt should get a no- objection letter from the Department of Palestinian Affairs .
  • Holders of Palestinian Passports from the Palestinian Authority should get a no- objection letter from the Department of Palestinian Affairs .
  • A valid work permit for the guardian of the student from Syria, Egypt and Yemen.
  • Except for students from the AGCC, other Arab and Foreign students should get a valid residence permit. Kuwaiti students should present a letter from their Embassy.
  • Students from the West Bank who have green cards should get an approval from the Department of Follow-Up and Inspection.

Authentication of Certificates issued by

Public ( Government ) Schools:

The student should have a transfer certificate verified by the Directorate of Education to which the school belongs to and then by the Directorate of Private Education.

Private Schools:

The student should have a transfer certificate verified by the Directorate of Private Education.

UNRWA Schools:

The student should have a transfer certificate verified by the Presidency of UNRWA, and then the Directorate of Private Education.

Students Coming From Abroad to Join Sands National Academy.

Attestations of the country where the students studied

  • Attestation of the certificates from the Ministry of Education in the country where they studied.
  • Attestation of the Certificates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where they studied.
  • Attestation of the certificates by the cultural attaché of the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the country where they studied.

Attestations in Jordan:

  • Attestation of the certificates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Attestation of the Certificates from the Ministry of Education / the Directorate of Private Education.
  • Students are required to obtain the written consent of the Directorate of Private Education.

Students Coming From America Should:

  • Verify their certificates from the Amid East.
  • Verify their certificates from the Ministry of Education/ the Directorate of Private Education.
  • Obtain a written consent from the Directorate of Private Education.

Students Coming From Canada Should:

  • Verify their certificates from the Canadian Embassy in Jordan.
  • Verify their certificates from the Ministry / the Directorate of Private Education.
  • Obtain a written consent from the Directorate of Private Education.

Students Coming From The U.K. Should:

  • Verify their certificates from the British Council in Jordan.
  • Verify their certificates from the Ministry of Education/ Division of Examinations and Division of Education in the Directorate of Private Education.
  • Obtain a written consent from the Directorate of Private Education.

Students Coming from Arab Countries and From Countries Not Mentioned Above are required to:

  • Verify their certificates from the Ministries of Education of their countries.
  • Verify their certificates from the Jordanian Embassies in their countries.
  • Verify their certificates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jordan.
  • Verify their certificates from the Ministry of Education in Jordan / the Directorate of Private Education.
  • Obtain a letter of consent from the Directorate of Private Education.

Tuition & Fees

We endeavor to make our payment process as easy as possible with a range of simple and straightforward payment options, as well as a clear, concise fee structure. 

  • The ‘seat reservation’ fee of JD 300 is non-refundable but deducted against tuition fees payments for school students.
  • The New Admissions fee of JD 500 is non-refundable but deducted against tuition fees payments.
  • In case of student’s  withdrawal during the first week of school for any reason, the tuition fee  of the first semester is non-refundable in any case.

    Sibling Discount for the International Curriculum:

    • 5% discount for all siblings, starting from the second sibling.

    Special Discounts:

    • A discount of 10% for the children of Professional Associations members, the children of members of the Jordanian Armed Forces and the children of banks employees, registered in the national curriculum.
    • A discount of 5% for the children of Professional Associations members, the children of members of the Jordanian Armed Forces and the children of banks employees , registered in the international curriculum.

    Academic Excellence Scholarships (National Program):

    • The top student of all the sections of the same class starting from 6th grade to 9th grade shall be exempted of the entire school fee.
    • The second student is exempted from 70% of the payments, and the third is exempted from 50% of the school fee.
    • Provided that their grade point average is no less than 96%.
    • The students of the 10th and 11th grades with a grade point average of 97 or above are exempted from the entire school fee
    • 10th and 11th grade students with a grade point average of 96-96.9 are exempted from 70% of the school fee.

    NOTES:

    • The student is not entitled to refund any of the school fees or transportation payments paid to the Academy in the event of a transfer to another school, regardless of the reasons.
    • A student who receives a full or partial scholarship is not entitled to transfer from the academy to another school without providing convincing reasons.
    • The student isn’t eligible to combine two discounts from the previous discounts.
    • The contents of this guide are considered an integral part of the Academy’s laws and regulations.

    Admission and Registration Policy

    • The Academy receives, and according to its admission policy, students of different nationalities. Sands National Academy reserves the right to evaluate each applicant for the school and to interview the student by the administration.
    • The Academy does not accept students who do not meet its academic or behavioral requirements.
    • According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, the Academy requests the student’s file from the school which they are transferred from, and to submit all the required documents upon registration. The Parent is responsible for providing the school with the necessary identification papers for the student.
    • Four-year-old- children are admitted to the First year in Kindergarten(KG 1) (Al Bustan)
    • Five-year-old- children are admitted to the Second year in Kindergarten (KG 2) (Tamheedi)
    • Six-year-old- children are admitted to the First Grade.

     

    The Academy reserves the right not to re-register a student in the following cases:

      • Failure to pay the installments on the agreed upon specified dates.
      • Student’s lack of full commitment to the rules and regulations of the Academy.
      • If it turns out that the student needs support education or a ‘Resources Room’, especially in the kindergarten and the elementary stages as the academy does not provide such services.

      Documents Required for Registration  for the Academic Year 2021/2022

      Kindergarten and 1st Grade
      • A certified copy of the birth certificate for Jordanian students (with the National Number on it).
      • A copy of the Family Log for Jordanian students.
      • A copy of the student’s passport attested by the embassy for non-Jordanian students
      • A copy of the annual Residence Permit for the non-Jordanian student, or the father’s Work Permit for Egyptian students or the Syrian Community Card for Syrian students.
      • A copy of the Vaccination Certificate
      • Two (2) passport size personal photos.
      • A letter of approval from the Follow-up and Inspection Department for holders of Palestinian nationality who do not hold the card of ‘Child of a Jordanian Mother’.
      2nd to the 10th grade
      • A certified copy of the birth certificate for Jordanian students (with the National Number on it).
      • A copy of the Family Log for Jordanian students.
      • A copy of the student’s passport attested by the embassy for non-Jordanian students
      • A copy of the annual Residence Permit for the non-Jordanian student, or the father’s Work Permit for Egyptian students or the Syrian Community Card for Syrian students.
      • A copy of the Vaccination Certificate
      • Two (2) passport size personal photos.
      • A letter of approval from the Follow-up and Inspection Department for holders of Palestinian nationality who do not hold the card of ‘Child of a Jordanian Mother’.
      • Transfer Certificate
      • The last School Report Card (Certificate) (for new students registered in the tenth grade, Eighth and Ninth Grades School Report Card must be submitted)
      • Scholastic Marks Transcript.
      Secondary Stage Students
      • The last School Report Card (Certificate)
      • Two (2) passport size personal photos.
      • A copy of the birth certificate certified by the Civil Status Department.
      • A copy of the Family Log.
      • A copy of the Vaccination Card.
      • A copy of the annual Residence Permit for the non-Jordanian student, or the father’s Work Permit for Egyptian students or the Syrian Community Card for Syrian students.
      • A letter of approval from the Follow-up and Inspection Department for holders of Palestinian nationality who do not hold the card of ‘Child of a Jordanian Mother’.
      • Transfer Certificate attested by the Planning Department of the Directorate from which the student is transferring.

      In addition to the above:

      • Palestinian/Gaza students who hold a temporary Jordanian passport, a copy of the passport is required.
      • Palestinian students / West Bank: A letter of approval from the Follow-up and Inspection Department and a copy of the passport are required.
      • Palestinian documents holders from (Syria – Lebanon – Egypt): a no-objection letter from the Palestinian Affairs Department is required.
      • A valid work permit for the parent of the student holding Egyptian nationality.
      • The rest of Arab and foreign students are required to have a valid residence permit.
      • The attestation is only for the Tenth Grade school students who are promoted to the First Secondary grade and the First Secondary students who are promoted to the Second Secondary grade.

      The file must be attested by the Planning Department and Examinations Department in the Directorate which the student is transferring from, and from the Planning Department and Examinations Department of Aljamea’a Educational Directorate. As for Tawjihi students from outside Aljamea’a Educational Directorate a no objection letter to transferring from the Directorate which his old school belongs to is required.

      Attestation of certificates for students coming from outside Jordan:

      1. Attestation of the file from the country which the student is moving from:
      • The Ministry of Education.
      • Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
      • The Jordanian embassy there.

       

      1. Attestation of the file from Jordan:
      • Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
      • If the student is coming from a school in an Arab country and has studied there in the Arabic language – the file is certified by the Directorate of Private Education – or by the Aljamea’a Educational Directorate depending on the student’s grade. While if the student is coming from an Arab or a foreign country and has studied in an International Program, the file must be attested from the Directorate of Examinations in Jabal Alwaibdeh, which will send  an equivalency directed to the concerned educational directorate for approval, and accordingly,  a letter of acceptance is sent to the school.
      • Students coming from America must have their certificates attested first from Amid East Office in Wadi Abdoun and then from the he Directorate of Examinations in Jabal Al-Weibdeh. Then from the Directorate of Private Education in Jabal Al-Hussein to issue a letter of acceptance directed to the school.

      *** Students (from the second grade to the eleventh grade) who are unable to submit any required documents duly attested as mentioned above, should refer to Sands National Academy as soon as possible (within the first two weeks of registration) to help them on this matter. A six-week letter of acceptance will be issued by the Ministry of Education, and the grade is assigned according to the age of the student.

      If the student does not bring the attested certificate on time, she/he will be required to take a placement test through the Directorate of Private Education. If the student passes the test, he will continue to be accepted into the school according to his result.

      Note: The Registration and Student Affairs Department will not accept  or receive any file which  lacks any of the above documents
