Mr. Jameel N. Anz

Head of the SME Investment Fund

Mr. Jameel Anz joined the Arab Bank Group as the Head of the SME Investment Fund in 2017. He is a Director and Vice Chairman of Al Amal Maternity Hospital, Hlaiyel Group, Crystel, Japanese Flavor, ManafSoft and Medmac. Prior to that, Mr. Anz was a Senior Director at Foursan Group which he joined in 2005. He also served as a Director of Safwa Islamic Bank, Al Qaser for Touristic Investment, Shamsuna Power, and Nafith Logistics.

Mr. Anz is the President of the CFA Society Jordan, an exam grader and a frequent lecturer in valuation, accounting, finance and ethics. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Oasis500.

Mr. Anz is a CFA Charterholder, in addition to holding an MBA in Finance – Valedictorian – from NYIT. Mr. Anz also holds a BA in Economics with Great Distinction from McGill University.

Shahm Alwir

Shahm worked for six years at one of the world’s largest law firms, Debevoise & Plimpton, in New York, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, advisory, and investment markets transactions before joining Fursan Company as a partner in 2007.

Currently, Shahm serves on the boards of Arab Bank, Siniora Food Industries, Sands National Academy Schools, and Jo Academy. He serves on the boards of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the Amman Baccalaureate School. He is also the vice president of the Harvard Alumni Association. He is a member of the NYSBA and an affiliated lawyer.

 Shahm holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Virginia School of Law as well as a Bachelor of Political Science degree with honors from Harvard University.

Ali Aggad

Ali is the Director of Portfolio Companies at Foursan Group. Prior to joining Foursan in 2018, Ali was the Chief Operating Officer of the Arab Palestinian Investment company (APIC), a leading regional investment firm with investments in Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Iraq. Previously, he held many executive positions including as General Manager, CEO, and Chairman of various APIC subsidiaries during his 18 years tenure.
Ali is currently Chairman of the National Aluminum Profiles Company, Vice Chairman of Sands National Academy, and a Director of Siniora Food industries and JABA Inversiones Inmobiliarias.
Ali received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with First Class Honors from the Jordan University of Science & Technology, and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the London Business School.

Ayat Al-Hunaiti

Ayat joined the Arab Bank Group in 2018 as a principal investment manager for the SMEs Investment Fund. She serves on the boards of Sands National Academy, Al Qasr Tourism Investments Company, International Business Communication Services Company, Japanese Flavor Food Company, Manaf Software Company, Al-Sakhaa Medical Services Company, Eye Specialist Hospital, Nateg Software Company, Arab Development Company, Al-Riyam Company, Elevatus Company, and Midmac Company, all of which manufacture fertilizers, agricultural and veterinary medicines. She was earlier the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at ACWA Power, a major developer, investor, co-owner, and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production facilities in ten countries. She was in charge of evaluating and balancing the company’s investments in Jordan, as well as overseeing the establishment of the business development team for new projects. Ayat previously worked as a financial advisor for Phoenix Arab Holding, where she helped to restructure the company and develop a customized strategic business plan. Ayat previously worked as a Portfolio Manager at Capital Investments, where she oversaw the firm’s flagship fund, “The Horizon Fund,” as well as several other investment portfolios. Ayat holds a Chartered Financial Analyst certificate as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance with a minor in Business Administration from Yarmouk University -Jordan.

Sami Masannat

In December 2018, Sami joined the SMEs Investment Fund as a principal manager. He serves on the board of directors of Sands National Academy Schools, Al Manara International Shipping Company, Japanese Flavor Company, Muntag Information Technology Company, The Little Genius Company, Al Baraka Company for Food Industries and Consultations, Al Amal Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a group Hillel Clearing and Shipping Services. Before joining the fund, Sami worked as a Principal in Ernst & Young Jordan’s Transaction Advisory Services department for 11 years. Sami has extensive transactional advisory experience, including diligence on purchase and sale aspects, underwriting readiness, and portfolio optimization. Sami spent a year at Qatar Development Bank as an investment manager, supervising an investment fund for SMEs (Istithmar) and a venture capital fund (Ithmaar). Sami previously worked for EY in the audit department for 5 years, where he led legal audits of publicly and privately traded companies. Sami received his MBA from Cambridge University in 2016 and his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Jordan in 2002. Sami has a CPA certification and has taken a Stanford University executive course.
